Vintage ribbons and buttons

It is so much fun to explore the little shops and restaurants in the historic district of the town where I live. There are so many things to see and do. Recently, I discovered the most delightful store and from the moment I entered the door, I felt like I never wanted to leave. Accessories of Old carries vintage ribbons, trims, beads, buttons and other sparkly notions. What makes these accessories even more special is that they are vintage, but NEW! This is an amazing find and everything is in pristine condition.

Visually, the store is a treat for the eyes. The ribbons, buttons, and other items seem almost like multiple rows of delicious looking candy. All of the colors and textures are artistically arranged and are so inviting. Every time I have visited the store, there are people who are spending a significant amount of time simply looking at the vast selection of items. Literally, I could spend HOURS in this lovely alcove. I’m pretty particular about the ribbons that I use for the minnies hair and appreciate the high quality vintage ribbons that Accessories of Old has. Our latest find are some adorable bobby pins with apples and lemons on them. The lemons match one of the minnies' Lilly coverup dresses from last year perfectly.

Fun, colorful buttons add flair to any shirt and are a fun embellishment. Look at all of the colors of the buttons. Seriously, where could you find better eye candy than this?

If you are looking for something special, you may want to contact Andrew at Accessories of Old at 301-760-7228. He is very helpful and knowledgeable about his products. The story behind the store is very interesting to note. You can get the full scoop here, but this is an excerpt from Accessories of Old's website:

After leaving South Africa three years ago, Lisa and husband Andrew have teamed up and are rapidly sinking their teeth into the vintage market throughout the United States, selling their wares that all date back to the 20’s. Almost all of the items have been shipped from South Africa and are being unveiled for the first time since they were bought by Solly, Lisa's grandfather, in the 20’s.
