Jules Reid had the most lovely trunk show at Sherman Pickey on Saturday, May 15. Sherman Pickey is such a lovely store. Ethan obviously has impeccable taste and carries the most delightful collection from a variety of preppy designers. I love this store!
As you know, I adore Jules Reid's collection and was thrilled to see so many different styles and prints in person. It is all so preppy and classic. Apart from the things that I own, this was a great opportunity to try on other items for fit. The fit on everything I tried is very true to size. Mentally I'd prepared myself to add one thing to my wardrobe, but I left with a very long list.
Don't you LOVE the long pink and green tunic? It's called the Beatrice. The details such as grograin ribbon, lace and other trim on Jules' clothing are exquisite. A lady at Sherman Pickey was wearing the Beatrice tunic and looked stunning in it.
Personally, I fell in love with the "Charlotte" blouse named after my girl Charlotte from SATC. First of all, it was pink and green. That would have been enough in my book. Next, it has an adorable, but not child-like bow at the neckline. What put me over the edge are the stones that are covered by hand in silk and then applied to the hem of the sleeves. The details in this blouse are absolutely amazing. I'm in love with a blouse. Seriously.
Jules is as lovely in person as I imagined her and looked uber chic in her Wyatt pants. She commented that this popular pant will be back as part of her fall collection in new prints and fabrics. (Don't think I'm a traitor for wearing Lilly to see Jules. I was on the way to a Lilly tea/fundraiser at the Fairmont hotel!)
Normally, I'm not a huge fan of shorts, but I simply HAD to try on this outfit because I loved the look of the Virginia tunic with shorts that appears on Jules Reid's website. This combination is a real winner. The tunic is gorgeous. The length of the tunic is perfect and the fit is true to size. The shorts are comfortable and flattering and also fit true to size. It's nice to be able to pick something up from a designer and know that it will fit. This is also very helpful for online shopping.
The lovely Alice from Summer is a Verb was also at the trunk show and I wish we could have spent more time together! She's just as I imagined her and is lovely and oh so preppy. Too bad I had to leave quickly for the other event. . . Nothing like a weekend full of activity!
I'm loving my Jules Reid "Gin and Tonic" cup. . .
