Lester Lanin and Lilly!

How adorable are these little peeps in their Lester Lanin beanies? I'm loving this picture from the Lilly Summer 2010 catalog.

Now if I could only find the Lester Lanin beanies buried in boxes from my college days, I'd be a really happy camper! Does anyone still have their Lester Lanin beanies?

As you probably know, Lester Lanin played the music at the weddings of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley and many more. This fantastic orchestra entertained guests at Presidential Inaugural balls and thousands of social events around the world. I had the opportunity to see this orchestra many times and LOVE them! There's something so happy about their music. Their recordings are on my ipod!

So much fun the famous beanies were featured in the Lilly catalog.

  1. I promised you a beanie and I haven't forgotten! Someplace in Newport I have a few left over from my own wedding! I loved that picture in the the Lilly catalog as well!

  2. I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Lilly catalog - they played at our senior ball in college and I know I have a few packed away - if only I could find them :)

  3. That is so neat Lilly featured them. As for the printed poplin on the little girl, I may need to get this for my daughters. And if I get it for my daughters, I may need to get it in the Daphne dress, as well. Wouldn't that make perfect, reasonable sense....hubby? Haha.

  4. I got my Lilly catalog yesterday and definitely took a trip down memory lane when I got to the page with the children in the Lester Lanin beanies. I went to several deb parties that were spectacular and Lester Lanin was the band and beanies were the thing. Sadly, mine are long gone but I did wonder if I still had one tucked away in the attic.

  5. I feel so out of the loop, I've never even heard of them.

  6. I still have my beanies. Great memories!

  7. I have two from my wedding, but I wish I'd saved more. I particularly wish I had one of the white ones.

I need to see how my nine year old looks in one.
