The minnies and I attended the 7th Annual Mother Daughter Tea and Fashion Show hosted by the Pink Palm. The lovely event was held at the Fairmont hotel in Washington, DC. The proceeds from the event benefit the Make a Wish foundation. It was interesting to hear about different wishes that had been recently granted. One young girl wished to be a model, but unfortunately she was not able to attend the fashion show to participate as a model. Another girl wished to be a fashion designer and spent a day at the Lilly Pink Palace designing her own dress.
Before the fashion show, we enjoyed delicious tea sandwiches, scones, and other treats. The tables had gorgeous Lilly Pulitzer tablecloths and the room looked spectacular. There were plenty of Mimosas and pink drinks. The minnies enjoyed their Shirley Temples!
Local tv celebrities and businesswomen modeled fashions from the Pink Palm with their daughters. The mommy and me combinations were so much fun. The models were all so excited and you could tell that the children really enjoyed the event.
There were also some fantastic silent auction items including a Lilly print, hotel stays at Fairmont hotels around the U.S., and Lilly items like a Murfee scarf and tote bags. Charity and I loved the Boston hotel package and happily bid on many items.
The guests all received goodie bags at the end of the event.
A huge thanks to Leesa for sharing her spectacular pictures with me! Apart from being a super sweet woman, she's also incredibly talented at design and photography. Isn't she a fantastic photographer??
A special certificate was in the goodie bag and I can't wait to go shopping at Pink Palm! Of course, the minnies already asked if we can get a cupcake from Fancy Cakes by Leslie after our shopping trip, too.
I'm already looking forward to next year's tea!
