Since I'm enjoying my mini-vacation in Mexico right now, I thought that it would be appropriate to share my recipe for a Michelada with you. Micheladas are common all over Mexico and are particularly refreshing at the beach or pool on a hot day.

Ingredients:
12 oz. Mexican Beer, non-dark, (Negro Modelo or Corona)
2 dashes of Maggi sauce (Jugo Sazonador)
2 dashes of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
2 dashes Tabasco brand hot sauce
juice from 2 small green Mexican limes
Mix all the ingredients except the beer in a glass, stir well. Add a few ice cubes.
You can also rim the glass with salt before serving, chili and salt if you're brave!

I loved Micheladas so much when I was pregnant last summer because you could substitute the beer for non-alcoholic beer and it tasted almost exactly the same! I'll have to try your recipe, but with real beer this time. :) Great post!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds yummy...I love all those ingredients too. I will most defiantely try that. Have a great day in Mexico!!
ReplyDeleteYes, and I'm adding some new pics to this post -- it's a block from my house and adorable, therefore dangerous!

ReplyDeleteSounds delicious! Have a wonderful time in Mexico! Can't wait to hear about your adventures.
ReplyDeleteThat cocktail looks deeeeelish! You had me at Mexican beer!
ReplyDeleteThose Micheladas sound delish! I clicked on your link for maggi sauce. I've grown up eating it but never knew that it wasn't actually soy sauce! (who knew!) With that revelation in mind, I will certainly have to experiment more with it. Hope you are enjoying your Mexican siesta!
