Colorfest

Happy Wednesday! This weekend, my friend Charity and I enjoyed an incredibly gorgeous (and warm!) fall day at Colorfest, a juried crafts festival that has an average attendance of almost 100,000. We lucked out with a great place to park even though it was crowded.

We saw the typical craft show variety and some new and unusual things, too. These paintings caught my eye. I think they are very pretty and different from other things I have seen.

This adorable little outfit makes me wish I had a little tiny minnie at home to wear it! Isn't it too cute?

Preppy vendors were well represented at Colorfest. These clipboards are so cute and were selling like hotcakes. She also had the most adorable tutus! One was pink and green. I bought little hair clips for the girls with their initials on them. They were thrilled and have worn them to school for the past two days.

Another popular vendor sold clothes for American Girl dolls and some matching things for girls. Alexia is going to be a purple and black witch for Halloween, so imagine how excited I was to find a purple and black witch costume for dolls! The pajama sets for girls and dolls were also adorable and oh so soft.

As always, I'm on the hunt for the strange and obscure. These looked cute from a distance...then, as I got closer, I realized that the pumpkins were made out of recycled propane tanks!!! After much discussion and debate, Charity and I decided that we liked them because: A. they are "green" and B. they won't get yucky after a few weeks. What do you think?

For me, a craft show is not complete without a preppy bow lady! This particular preppy bow lady certainly did not disappoint and had an incredible variety of bows, headbands, clips, and ribbons in all sizes. Natalia has been wearing her hair in a ponytail a lot lately so I got her a bunch of the ribbon "streamers." Alexia has been wearing headbands since she donated her hair to Locks of Love. Both little peeps were very happy with my purchases.

Do you go to a lot of craft shows? What do you like to see? What is the funniest thing you have seen? Charity and I saw some things that were pretty funny and silly, but someone would buy them, just not us!

xoxo

  3. How fun. What cute things. I love a good craft show. We don't have to many around here though it's such a bummer. I love going to craft shows in the fall.

  4. Those little girl outfits are so cute--I love the little socks! When I was in middle school the big thing to buy at a craft fair that was in my hometown every Labor Day weekend was Mary Engelbreit tee shirts, scrunchies and tote bags. I still smile every time I see ME apparel bc it reminds me of being so excited to pick new things out every year.

  6. I'm always amused by people who purchase something very heavy in the morning and then have to lug it around the craft show for the rest of the day. I'm in the Philly suburbs and I don't recall seeing any preppy bow ladies at craft fairs.
