You're probably wondering what Tequila and Champagne have to do with each other.
As you know, Champagne can only come from the Champagne region of France, in the northeastern part of the country. Anything else is sparkling wine. And no, it's not just a picky snicky name thing. It's FRENCH law!
In recent years, tequila has become a trendy drink of choice. But true tequila can only be produced in the Mexican states of Jalisco, Nayarit, Guanajuato, Michoacán, and Tamaulipas. Modeling the French, the rules about tequila are Mexican Law. Tequila from anywhere else...well, let's just say it isn't tequila! The city of Tequila is where this fermented agave beverage was first made in the 16th century.

Lucky me has a beautiful friend getting married this weekend in Guadalajara, so I'll come back with an expert review of authentic tequila for you!
