Advent Calendars: 2010

Tomorrow, I'll celebrate a year of Maryland Pink and Green! What a fantastic year this has been. When I first started writing this blog, I was not sure how many people would read what I wrote or if they would care, but the positive and warm responses I have received during the past year continue to amaze me. Thank you all so much for reading and most of all,
thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions.

Last year, one of my first posts shared my excitement about advent calendars, so I decided to include a 2010 edition of my favorite advent calendars. Ever since I was a little girl, I used to love to open the advent calendar every night to see what suprises were there. My Nana sometimes bought a delicious chocolate-filled advent calendar from Germany for my sister and me. Other times, we used an heirloom advent calendar with little tiny drawers,
filled with surprises and coins.

Some advent calendars last for one season,
while others will be new heirlooms for generations to come.
My favorite advent calendars from 2010...

Eric Carle is one of Alexia's favorite authors, so I knew that this was a must have for her. The gorgeous illustrations come to life as a pop up book!

Chocolate lovers appreciate the Harbor Sweet Advent Calendar.
So delicious and worth the wait each day to open the door.

The set of galvanized buckets are a delightful and modern interpretation of the advent calendar. Fill with goodies and surprises of your choice.
Available now at an amazing price from Garnet Hill.

Of course, this post would not be complete without a pink and green advent calendar. If you like pink and green and are crafty, you'll love this DIY advent calendar I found on Etsy. Tic Tac Togs has many exciting advent calendars that are simple and inexpensive to make.

What advent calendar are you using this year? Do you have several advent calendars in your house like me? Is there a special heirloom advent calendar in your family? Please share links of other gorgeous advent calendars;
I'm always looking for fun new ideas.

Have a fantastic day!

  1. omg! Look at my post, too! That one by Eric Carl is really spectacular! I bet we could make neat ones with our Crikets! Maybe next year :)

  2. Love the last one on Etsy. I am going to have to make one for my little one.

  3. How cute! I'm from finding other Maryland bloggers. :)

  4. An Eric Carle calendar? How adorable! I just love how clever they are these days!
