The girls and I had such a wonderful day at the Aquarium yesterday. Since we expected large crowds for dollar days, we got to the Inner Harbor area early, just before 9:00 a.m. The original plan was to get a little snack at Panera across the street instead of waiting in the 27 degree cold air, but I saw that there was already quite a line in front of the ticket area.
After waiting in line for only about 5 minutes, an Aquarium volunteer announced his holiday present to us...that the aquarium was going to open early! We met our friends Johanna, her husband Joe, and baby Charlotte and went right in to the aquarium! It was such a treat!
The exhibits at the National Aquarium are spectacular. We had fun finding Nemo and Dory and loved the coral reef. The Rainforest is always popular with my girls, too. Although we didn't see a dolphin show yesterday, Alexia had the opportunity to talk with a trainer and we watched a scuba diver feed the stingrays in the tank.
Lunch at J. Paul's was good and we enjoyed the fantastic view of the water. Instead of bread, we were given fresh soft pretzels with our drinks. MMMMM! So good!
If you're looking for a fun and educational opportunity event in Baltimore today, consider a visit to the National Aquarium or any of the other museums participating in Dollar Days.
