Every January, we hear lots of talk about New Year's Resolutions. I'm far from perfect, but I'm usually not one to make resolutions. Why? Well, some resolutions are difficult to impossible to fulfill while others depend on external factors. This year, I've spent some time thinking about my goals for the new year and some things that I would like to achieve.
Here's my list of resolutions for 2011:
1. Exercise more. I started out the year really well not only going to the gym every day, but actually WORKING HARD while I was there. (You know, some people go just for show!) But in the past few weeks, things have been busy and I’ve fallen way off the exercise wagon. So I’ve said it here; keep me accountable and make sure I’m getting my exercise. Feel free to email or tweet me!
2. Take more pictures. Well, actually, I want more pictures with me in them. No, I’m not being vain or narcissistic. I’m usually the one taking pictures of places and people, that I rarely have any pictures with me in them. So this resolution is two part. Not only do I want to take more pictures to document my life and experiences; I want to be recorded in those pictures, too!
3. Eat out less. There was a news story about a family who stopped eating out for a specific period of time. They ended up saving a ton of money and had healthier eating habits, too. Although I LOVE eating in yummy restaurants for the experience, I want to make an effort to eat at home during the week instead of getting something from a restaurant on a busy night.
4. Send mail to friends. Whenever I get an email from a friend just to say hello, it really brightens my day so much. Cocodot and their fun little cards are a lovely way to let you know someone that you are thinking about them. But the best thing is receiving a real letter or note in the mail – not a bill or junk! So this year, I want to spread the love by sending mail to friends. Want to get a letter or email card? Send me and email with your contact information and you’ll get a surprise, probably when you least expect it.
What are your resolutions or goals for 2011? How are you going to make sure that you stick with these goals?
