Happy April Fools' Day! Are you playing any jokes on anyone today? The first joke was on my Spanish 3 students. They had a test today and many of the students were nervous about it because the concepts are pretty difficult. So I gave them a test with logical questions in Spanish and illogical multiple choice options in French! I passed out the test, while trying to keep a straight face. Students looked nervously around the room for a few minutes when one brave young man asked, "Is this an April Fools' joke?" Everyone laughed. It was funny and the students had fun with it.

It's great to get in to the silliness and fun of April Fools' Day in my opinion. But I think that it is important to keep jokes and silliness at a comfortable level.
Here are some things I always keep in mind...No one is ever singled out individually in a prank. Jokes are non-personal in nature. And then there's the golden rule. If I wouldn't think a joke or prank was funny if it happened to me, then I wouldn't do it to someone else.
Lots of fun jokes for children involve food. Won't your children be surprised when they reach for the the juice and find out that it is jello! This is easy to plan. Pre-make jello in juice glasses and put the straw in while the jello sets.

Another fun and easy trick is an apple with a worm in it and a bag of chips with the chips replaced with carrots and a note in it saying Happy April Fools' Day.

Here's a hilarious flyer for Chore Camp that my minnies will receive in the mail today! I can't wait to see their faces.

Do you play April Fools' Day jokes or pranks on friends? Have you ever had a joke played on you that you thought crossed the line of what is appropriate?
Have a fun day...and watch out for pranksters!
xoxo
