Pink Hibiscus Martini

Happy Saturday! I’m so excited that blogger is working. I was going through withdrawal yesterday when I couldn’t update blogger or read anyone else’s blog. Whew! What a relief to be back in action in blog land.

I’m making a special martini recipe book as part of a milestone birthday gift and was searching the web for new and unusual recipes. Whenever I start to look at recipes, my mind always seems to wander back to my favorite Mexican creations.

You may remember that I’m a huge fan of hibiscus water, agua de jamaica. It’s a natural diuretic, high in vitamins, and it’s pink! Turn hibiscus water into a cocktail and it’s a winner. I think it would make a perfectly pink signature drink at my next party. It’s surprisingly sweet, but certainly packs a punch!

Here’s an easy recipe…prepare a large pitcher of agua de jamaica before the party or do what Mexicans do; keep some in the fridge all the time. You can see how I make agua de jamaica in this post.

Get This:

• 1 ½ ounces agua de jamaica
• 1 ½ ounces vodka
• 1 ½ ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
• ½ ounce simple syrup

Do This:

Place all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into martini glasses. Garnish with lime or a hibiscus bloom.

Yummy and delicious! It's a perfect chance to use the adorable pink monkey Lilly Pulitzer shaker I picked up from Garnet Hill a few months ago.

Have a wonderful day! What are your weekend plans?

xoxo
