Wear a (Wrap) Dress

Diane von Furstenberg made history with her iconic wrap dress that is timeless, flattering, and easy to wear. In 1970, with a $30,000 investment, she began designing women's clothes - "The minute I knew I was about to be Egon's wife, I decided to have a career. I wanted to be someone of my own, and not just a plain little girl who got married beyond her desserts."

In 1973, she revolutionized women’s fashion with the wrap dress. The knit silk or synthetic jersey is stretchy and easy to wear. DVF is now a fashion dynasty with a complete line of ready to wear women’s clothing and accessories. Buy a piece of fashion history or choose from some other excellent wrap dress options featured today. Diane von Furstenberg says, “Feel like a woman, wear a dress!”

The Julian silk wrap dress from the Fall 2011 Diane von Furstenberg collection is stunning and looks very much like the one pictured above in the 1973 ad. So timeless. This is truly an investment piece that you will always have in your closet.

The Adalie dress from Lilly Pulitzer is another excellent choice for a wrap dress. The new dress for fall is available in several gorgeous print stories. It’s on sale right now at Bloomingdales, too. This dress was modeled at the Bloomingdales event I hosted at Tysons Corner and was the favorite pick for the evening. It is universally flattering on everyone.

This summer, I introduced you to Tracy Negoshian. Her dresses are all machine washable and the fabrics are so amazing. There is even a hidden pocket in the dress for money or an id. The Deanna wrap dress is a gorgeous addition to her fall collection. I love the retro print.

Another great option for a wrap dress is the Gemma wrap dress from Banana Republic. This dress is a winner because it is available in petite and tall sizes. Today you can get 30% off this dress and free shipping with the code BRBDAY30.
