Holiday Happenings

The month of December is a whirlwind of activity!  Every weekend is booked and some days are double and triple booked.  It's exciting and fun to see people.  Getting dressed up with a purpose also makes me smile.  Last night, I went to a lovely Christmas ornament exchange party hosted by my friend Patti.  Patti is such a gracious hostess that the party itself is worth a blog post, but I wanted to share my ornaments with you now.  I took a Lenox reindeer to exchange and the recipient loved it.  She opened it and promptly hid it so that no one would take it from her in the exchange game.  I received this lovely vintage Ornament set from Germany.  I adore pinecones and the owl is precious.  Love!

This morning the Twincesses are attending a Kids in the Kitchen class at Wegmans. At the end of the class, they will have made several Mason jar gifts. I love homemade gifts and a mix in a Mason jar is something that evreyone can appreciate. These will make excellent gifts for their dance and Sunday School teachers.

Tomorrow we're going to see the Nutcracker Ballet.  It's a wonderful holiday tradition for us.  We go every year and by now, the girls know all of the music and sequence of dances.

Next week is incredibly busy, too.  I'll be singing the Hallelujah Chorus on Wednesday.  When I was much younger, I loved singing and acting and even did a few summers in Summer Stock theater productions.  The Twincesses have their school choir and orchestra concert this week, too!  They'll both be singing, playing the violin and the recorder.  Yes, the recorder.  It's part of their music curriculum!  So funny.

What holiday happenings are going on in your life this weekend?

P.S.  Be sure to check out the Vineyard Vines Tie Ornament giveaway!  It's the first giveaway for my 12 Days of Christmas celebration.  Another giveaway will begin on Monday and this one will have two winners.

  1. I love holiday traditions!
Yesterday, I had my first "Christmas" with my aunt that will be in Cuba for Christmas, along with some of my out of town family. Afterwards, my family and I watched the UK game (which is an all-year tradition)! Then, we went walked through the Journey to Bethlehem. A local church puts it on, and it is great! Tonight, I am going to see the Nutcracker!
