Time For Monogrammed Tunics

What item is ideal for every occasion from a poolside party to an evening soiree and everything in between the two? The tunic is one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. In crisp cotton, tunics are a basic item for spring and summer.  Tunics are ideal beach cover ups, but also look fantastic worn as a dress or with white jeans in the summer.

If you like tunics, you’re going to love the newest collection from Port Winsor. Today is the official launch for the newest collection of Port Windsor's popular tunics, easy beach cover-ups, short and sweet dresses and a Custom Collection, that offers monogramming! What could possibly be better than a monogrammed tunic?  Customize your monogram with four different colors and four different monogram styles.

Port Winsor charged onto the fashion landscape in August 2011 with a simple goal: make the perfect tunic. Founder and designer Lindsay Jeanloz owned an assortment of tunics from a variety of designers, but each had their shortcomings. She set out to create a tunic that would flatter figures, be easy and elegant to wear with simple care instructions. Each tunic has darts in the back and at the bust to flatter, a hidden side zip that runs the length of the garment to make getting in and out a cinch, and bracelet-length sleeves. These design innovations coupled with the line’s bold colors and pretty patterns create timeless looks for every season. Best of all, the entire line is machine washable.

“It’s these seemingly small design details that make all the difference in creating the flattering, classic lines of our tunics, dresses and cover-ups,” Jeanloz explained. “It’s that easy-breezy style and sensibility that have won us so many fans in such a short time.”

Port Winsor’s tunics were an instant hit and almost as soon as they were released fans started making requests for a dress. The Chathamin classic blue seersucker with pale pink trim, and Newport, in a yellow geometric pattern with navy trim, dresses take the classic tunic and transforms it into the perfect piece for graduations, summer weddings and weekends getaways. With a longer length they look amazing with Jack Rogers (on Rue La La today!) or a flirty wedge.

Life’s a beach, and the St. Tropez Cover-up is the ideal choice to take you from the shoreline to sunset cocktails in style. Made of lightweight cotton voile and available in aqua and pink, it has a longer length than Port Winsor’s tunics and can be worn alone or perfectly paired with white capris.

The Georgetown Tunic is another classic piece from Port Winsor. Port Winsor is sponsoring an upcoming event in the DC area on March 22. They are excited to support Junior Friends Toast to Fashion, taking place at Belle Haven Country Club and benefiting the Campagna Center. One lucky peep will win a Georgetown Tunic. Learn more about ticket information for this wonderful event.

Inspired by a love of design with a sophisticated aesthetic and easy elegance, Port Winsor brings you pieces with a classic and understated approach to style. For inspiration, they draw on growing up in New England, spending summers on Cape Cod, the prep school years, and an appreciation for things that get better with time. Port Winsor has a simple fashion philosophy: to use clean lines and a flattering fit to create pieces that are versatile enough to wear running errands around town or attending a cocktail party. Their small runs and use of limited edition fabrics make you stand out in even the most fashionable of crowds.

What is your favorite Port Winsor tunic?
