These Are a Few of My Favorite Cords

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
(about the start of cold weather!)
I simply remember my favorite cords,
And then I don't feel so bad.

You'll never hear me complain about summer heat, not even on the hottest day in August.  But cold, crisp air nipping at my skin sends me into a tizzy.  Luckily for me, beautiful textures and colors add a touch of fun to my fall wardrobe.  When everyone else is wearing beige and gray, I'm still rocking bright colors in cold weather fabrics like corduroy.   I love soft corduroy and appreciate the extra warmth since I always seem to be cold.

These are a few of my favorite picks in preppy corduroy!

Kayce Hughes is one of my favorite designers.  Her classic styles are timeless and so flattering.  I love the Karee dress in preppy pink corduroy.  The fabric is so soft the empire waist is fabulous.  I did size up one size in this dress both last season and this year and it's perfect.  Kayce Hughes' customer service is amazing, too!  I love to order from this company.

Another fabulous addition to my fall wardrobe is the Sail to Sable is the Classic Tunic Dress in Perfect Prep Green and Navy.  The corduroy is uber soft and the shape of the tunic reminds me of summer, yet it is a perfect choice for winter.  I plan to wear it now with boots and will add some pretty tights later this fall.  The sizing from Sail to Sable is different from other brands.  Following their size chart, I ordered a size 1 and the fit was perfect.

Corduroy is pretty, but polka dots make it extra special.  The Placket Cord Dress from Boden fits the bill nicely.  The shape is modern and will keep you looking pretty on the coldest day.  I imagine this Mole Spotted print with tall boots and tights.

Lands End always has a selection of pretty cold weather clothing, but Lands End Canvas is my favorite.  The updated silhouettes and yummy colors make fall and winter much more bearable.  The Pin Straight Corduroy Pants have just a touch of stretch to flatter you just like your favorite jeans.  Order your jean size for the best fit.

Too bad my girls can't fit in this adorable corduroy dress anymore!  If you have a little girl, you'll love this Personalized Cord Jumper from Garnet Hill.

What are your favorite ways to stay warm during the winter and fall?  Have you found any other fabulous options in corduroy?  Leave a comment and share your favorites.  I would love to see what you have found since my fall wardrobe needs a little boost!

 xoxo

  5. What keeps me the toast-y-est in the cold Midwest is...knowing I only have nine more winters to make it through ayyyynd then, I'll be a snowbird on the beach at our southern home! Oh girly...I think I can , I think I can! I also adore wearing sweater dresses with cable knit tights and a fab contrasting cardy (with a fur collar)! But someday...it shall be Lilly all year long! Ahhhhh!
