DAR Christmas Party

Holiday party season is officially in full swing!  This weekend, I had two Christmas parties to attend and both were lovely.  The Maryland State Society Daughters of the American Revolution hosted the annual Christmas party at the Chapter House in Roland Park in Baltimore.  The stunning Queen Anne style home is a lovely setting for any event.

The halls are decked in holiday greens and lovely decor.

Every detail shines beautifully.

The pineapple centerpiece is as unique and modern statement on the sweets table.

My sweet friend Leesa and I enjoy the party and as we indulge in some delicious treats, including tea sandwiches and cookies.  My dress is from Elizabeth McKay and is incredibly comfortable, easy to wear, and flattering.

The Delft blue Maryland tobacco jar is one of my favorite pieces in the chapter house.  Most of the furnishings are donations from members.

This third floor guest room is one of my favorite period rooms.

The staircase is so ornate.

Here's an idea I want to try to recreate at home.  The cloves, cinnamon, and oranges in this tree-shaped arrangement bare so fragrant.

No one could resist these delicious treats.

In addition to live and silent auction items donated by various chapters and members, door prizes are another fun surprise.  I came home with two adorable gifts!

Next weekend will be another whirlwind of fun!  Have you attended any holiday parties this season?

  2. What beautiful, traditional decor! I love the pineapple arrangement...though the cloves in citrus brought back some memories. My mother and I made something similar when I was little and of course poking cloves into clementines was not a child's idea of fun.
