Lilly Pulitzer Resort Fit Guide

Models are always beautiful and thin, but it's often difficult for me to know what a dress will look like on a real, aka, non-model woman.  If you shop online or by phone, it's often a guessing game of knowing whether to size up or down.

Luckily for you, I've done the legwork for you and have a fit guide to five of the newest dresses from Lilly Pulitzer's resort collection.  Most of these lovelies just hit stores this week!  A special thanks to my minnies who played the role of amateur photographer to me, the mommy real woman mannequin, during this fun photo shoot.  Please excuse my messy hair, lack of make up and non-model appearance.

My favorite Lilly Pulitzer resort dress is the Logan Dress in Shorely Blue Lazy and Hazy.  It fits true to size everywhere and is incredibly figure flattering.  I love the detail and the neckline and back.  A return to old school style prints and silhouettes, this shift dress reminds me of the Krista dress from a few years ago.  I'm wearing a size 6.  The size 4 also fit, but was a little bit too figure hugging for comfort.  I'm 5'4" inches tall and love the length of this dress.

Leilani in Multi Need My Shades is another winner from Lilly Pulitzer!  The stretch jersey is as comfortable as sweatpants, but you look fabulous.  It's flattering and very forgiving.  It would make a perfect travel dress.  Pair it with a cozy cardigan or wrap on the plane and va-va-voom once you arrive at your resort destination!  I'm wearing a size small.  The dress fits true to size.

Every year I seem to end up with a few Cassie dresses.  But the latest edition of the Cassie in Bright Navy Need My Shades is probably the best yet.  The french terry fabric is substantial and so soft.  The dress stretches just enough for comfort, but does not seem to overstretch.  I love the sleeves and boat neckline.  I'm wearing a size small and the dress fits true to size.

The Charlene Dress in Shorely Blue managed to jump into my shopping bag thanks to a gift card that a sweet aunt gave to me for Christmas!  The picture does not begin to do justice to this incredibly versatile dress.  The soft pique ponte fabric is substantial and flattering.  I love the back zipper and gold tone buttons on the front.  Wear this dress now with tights and boots and later with a pair of McKims.  It matches the New York Toile Murfee perfectly!  I'm wearing a size small and find this dress to fit true to size.

I'm always looking for dresses that I can wear to work that are comfortable.  The Sessilee Dress is a comfortable and flattering shirt dress in a soft, fluid fabric.  The tie waist ensures a perfect fit of this color blocked dress.  The Pink Lilac shade is almost purple in my opinion and although it seems like a departure from traditional Lilly pinks, I like it.  Want to know the best part?  You can size down in the Sessilee dress.  I'm wearing a size 4 while I pose with my friend, Caitlin, Assistant Manager at Lilly Pulitzer Tysons Galleria.

The minnies had a blast at the Lilly Pulitzer store at Tysons Galleria while they played photographer and fashion consultant.  Alexia loves the ear muffs and mittens!  She was also trying to convince me that she needed a Maddie Front Zip Jacket in blue because it is just like her North Face Jacket.

When you visit the Tysons Galleria store, be sure to ask about their monogramming service!  I love to monogram everything and am looking forward to refreshing my wardrobe with my new soon to be monogram.

Lilly Pulitzer at Tysons Galleria celebrates their grand opening in early February!  Stay tuned for more details about upcoming promotions and special events that will be part of the weekend.  Give them a call for any of the must-have Lilly on your wish list.  Caitlin and Megan are my two favorite team members at Lilly Pulitzer Tysons Galleria, but everyone there is so helpful.
