My year is starting with the exciting and fun task of wedding planning. Even though we are trying to keep things simple, there's so much planning involved with a wedding.
Since I live in a colorful world, one of the first things that came to my mind was the color story for the wedding. Now this might not be at the top of the typical wedding planning list, but the theme and colors of the party truly set the tone for the entire celebration. In some cases, the theme or colors can influence a choice for a reception location or dress.
Right now, I've narrowed the choices down to three and would love your input to help me make the final selection. We're looking at a June wedding so there will be so many flower choices in bloom at that time. In every case, I'm going to incorporate some Lilly and nautical details, too.
Please take a look at the choices and leave a comment to let me know which combination is your favorite.
Navy Blue and Kelly Green
Candy Pink and Lime Green
Bright Navy Blue and Hot Pink
Which color palette do you like the most? As I plan my summer wedding, I'd love to hear about any wedding or party resources you have. Please share any information you have about fabulous vendors and resources, particularly if they're located in Maryland, DC, or Virginia. The best recommendations come by word of mouth.
navy and fuschia!! bright, bold and sophisticated.. but if you go with the other choices, u can't lose, they are great. i'll ask my sorority sisters.. they all live in dc and got married there. can we skype your ceremony? LOL
ReplyDeleteVisitation academy for setting, snickety snacks for sweets table, Mary Kate battles for photography. Or volt courtyard with string lights if small wedding. Canapés catering. Navy and pink.
ReplyDeleteNavy & pink. You should check my Pinterest board for wedding inspiration, including nautical touches. I'll return and post the link.
ReplyDeleteWe should talk finally in person! I'd love to help you and see if I fit in your budget.
ReplyDeleteI adore all three, but at heart....pink and green!! It is just so you!
ReplyDeleteI am just so very tickled for you! Such exciting times.
Love and Hugs,
Mrs. Kindergarten...aka...Madame Spoiled
I love them all, but navy and kelly green is my fave!
ReplyDeleteNavy & Pink!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the navy & bright pink! I surprised myself w/ that answer. :)
ReplyDeleteI love navy and hot pink...sophisticated and feminine!
ReplyDelete@Kate ~ You have excellent choices! I adore Visitation; my sister and I are both graduates from the school, but I had my first wedding there, so it probably wouldn't be a good choice for my second wedding. ;)
ReplyDeleteCanapes has always been a favorite and Volt is gorgeous.
I'll have to take a look at the photographer and sweets table you recommend.
Thanks for your feedback!
Navy and hot pink! I am also having a June wedding, and those happen to be my colors and they look fabulous together! Congratulations and happy planning!
ReplyDeleteIt's in alexandria but every wedding at george washington river farm has been lovely. I do love weddings at private home gardens. Much more intimate, flexible and less expensive. We hosted 130 ppl at my grandparents and it was amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love blue/green for summer and navy/pink is fabulous. Mygfriends wedding in sonoma was navy/pink and had great touches. Let me know if you want to see pics.
I LOVE the navy and hot pink combo. Those two colors together are so rich yet so fun at the same time.
ReplyDeletePink and green is SO you, but I truly adore the hot pink and navy! Best wishes on your engagement!
ReplyDeleteFunny about visitation! You will find a place that suits you better now. My marriage recently ended so it cheers me to see you find more happiness. Wonder if Potowmac farms in Virginia has weddings. Never been but have heardvgoodvthings about their food.
ReplyDeleteNavy and kelly or Navy and pink... You can't go wrong with those. I would actually toss some white into the mix to soften it up. Pink and green is fun and youthful but it lacks a certain sophistication - So excited for you!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!!! What a wonderful time. I got married 4 years ago and still love everything I did.
ReplyDeleteAll your color options are great. My color story was Navy, Bright Pink and Lime Green - so maybe combine them all!
Bright Navy Blue + Hot Pink...but I don't think that you could go wrong with any combination! Congratulations on your engagement and your wonderful year. Wishing you many blessings for 2013. Happiest of New Year's!
ReplyDeleteToodles,

ReplyDeleteDefinitely navy and pink!
ReplyDeleteAll 3! I LOVE the navy and pink, but add splashes of the kelly green for the bright, fun touch! If you love all the colors, it's your day and you should enjoy all three!
