I’m a huge fan of every holiday and tend to go a little bit wild with holiday décor and planning, so this week’s favorites include a dose of fall fun.
When I was a little girl, I used to beg my mother to buy Count Chocula. This fun chocolate flavored cereal is only available for a limited period of time around Halloween. When I spied this at the store recently, I had to pick up a box to share a new tradition with my girls. I don’t know how I have missed it before now.
Little paper coasters are a fun and elegant touch to an adult Halloween party. Who says that Halloween is just for the kids? I love the clever sayings “Eat, Drink and Be Scary” and “Ghostess with the Mostess.” At only $1 a pack, they’re cute little gifts for friends, too!
Music makes me happy. We recently bought a new car, well, really, it’s a van, but that’s another story. My “old” SUV was a 2011 and seemed completely modern and up to date to me. But the technology in the 2014 van is beyond words amazing. I can listen to Pandora Radio all the time through my phone when I’m driving and let me tell you; I love it. The girls and I especially enjoy the Family Halloween Radio Station. With old standards like Thriller, Monster Mash, Ghostbusters, it’s a winner. Of course, I love the occasional 80s throwback like Abracadabra, too!
This year, we’re hosting Thanksgiving at our house for a crowd of 20 people. I’m being creative with my use of the oven and burners by researching some crock pot recipes. Right now, I cook with a programmable crock pot several times a week. I make dinner before I leave for work in the morning and arrive to a house that smells delicious. I can only imagine how delicious the house will smell on Thanksgiving with multiple crock pots in action. Don’t you think that I need a black damask crock pot to add to my menagerie? At only $17 and free shipping with Amazon Prime, it’s a great idea.
