Lilly for Target Collaboration!

Last night at about 6 or 7 o'clock in the evening, there was lots of buzz circulating about a press conference from Target in New York. When I learned that Lilly Pulitzer and Target had announced plans for a collaboration, I was amazed. This is something that I've been imagining for years! The collection of over 200 items has prices points ranging from $2-$150, but the majority of the items will cost less than $30.

On Instagram, I was able to see many previews of the line from @LillyforTarget and let me tell you; it looks absolutely fabulous. I'm particularly thrilled to see the home goods like pillows, beach chairs, towels, placemats and barware. There will even be a hammock for sale. For years, I've been buying scraps of fabric to make these goodies myself. I used Garnet Hill sheets and shower curtains to make tablecloths and window treatments, but now I'll be able to buy the finished product!

Not all Lilly Lovers are as excited as I am for this new Target collaboration. Some critics say that it will cheapen the brand to have it available in Target. While the thought of Lilly for Target clothing does not particularly thrill me, I disagree with these critics and am delighted to be able to find home goods in vibrant, happy colors. Many high-end designers and brands including Neiman Marcus, Liberty of London, Miss Trish, Tory Burch, and DVF have had very successful collaborations with Target, without taking away from their brand. If anything, the collaboration with Target created more brand awareness and popularity.

This summer we'll all entertain in style with fabulous Lilly for Target finds. I'm also eager to see what I can find to re-decorate my classroom. You'll be able to find me camping out at my local Target store in April.

How do you feel about the Lilly for Target collaboration?

xoxo

  2. I was one who was on the snobby side upset but I am fairly over it now. I did not want target to sell our beautiful clothes for cheap and looking cheap. But I think I will love being able to add more Lilly to my home/life affordable without having to make things.

    1. You're right! I'm thrilled about getting home goods like pillows without having to make them myself or spend a fortune to get the fabric.

  3. I am so excited for the reasonably price home goods! I'm a little bummed that Lilly won't be my own special thing anymore but I am way more excited then sad.

    1. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there is a Lilly for Target area rug that I could put in my daughters' room. The one I had liked at Garnet Hill sold out.
