Lilly Pulitzer Inspired Birthday Party

It's hard to believe that my twins turned 13 this summer. I love planning parties and spend time making sure that every detail is perfect. This year, Natalia and Alexia wanted to have a sleepover birthday party. When we first started talking about the theme, they decided that they wanted to serve tacos for dinner instead of the typical sleepover pizza party.

So I found my inspiration for the party where I usually find a lot of my party and craft ideas: in a Lilly Pulitzer print. The Juice Stand print has always been one of my favorite prints. Pink and orange is such a delightful combination.

Candy is important to any birthday celebration in our house. The girls loved the royal icing cookies, cotton candy, and other treats waiting for them when they arrived. I used some gold chevron burlap fabric to cover the cake island and buffet areas. Paper flowers from a trip to Mexico and some Lilly Pulitzer tissue paper flowers added to the decor.

Natalia and Alexia easily identified their shift dress monogram cookies!

I incorporated pink and orange fruit and floral details in the tablescape.
The menu relatively simple menu was easy for me to prepare at home before the party. Ten girls attended the party and they all enjoyed the food and treats. I designed a taco truck using part of a large cardboard box to display the menu.

Next week, I'll post more party pictures and details about some great movie options for sleepovers.

xoxo

  2. Bethany, the party was perfect. I loved the cake....I haven't seen them here, but they are on many blogs and they are so pretty. I always learn something from you, the crock pot liners are now a favorite. I have never seen the flat taco shells, but I found them online and at least I an look for them when I travel? It's a bit limiting up here. Happy Birthday to the Twincesses!

    Warmly, Kathleen

    1. Thank you so much, Kathleen! The cake was the girls' choice. Alexia had seen lots of these on Pinterest and really wanted one. SO glad that you use the crock pot liners. They really do save time. The flat taco shells were purchased on a whim because they looked fun for a party. Hope you're having a great week.
