Paint Nite

My cousins and two of my favorite aunts raved about how much they enjoyed a Paint Nite that they recently attended, so when Paint Nite extended an invitation to me, I knew that I wanted to try it. The Paint Nite website offers a schedule of dates and different types of painting in a wide variety of geographical areas.

Paint Nite was so much fun, from the dinner before painting, to the instructors with bubbly personalities and an incredible venue, I enjoyed every minute and didn't want to leave when it the evening ended.

Vintage is a farm-to-table restaurant offering fresh, local goods in an upscale, modern environment. Plus, they have cocktails ON TAP, something that I had never seen. We enjoyed dinner and drinks before finding our seats in the lovely room used for painting.

Although I wore an older Lilly Pulitzer t-shirt dress, I protected my clothing with an apron that the friendly instructor provided. By the end of the evening, my fingers had quite a bit of paint on them, but I didn't get any paint on the apron or my clothing.

My friends and I chose to paint wine glasses. Each place at the table was set with a palette of paint colors, water, brushes, and the wine glasses. The table offered plenty of work space and I didn't feel crowded at all even though party guests occupied almost every seat.

Using a large sheet of bulletin board paper and sharpies, the instructor led us through the painting process step-by-step. She also showed us several example glasses to use for inspiration. Painting the wine glass was a bit more challenging than I had anticipated, but I love the final result. The instructor offered suggestions to artists, allowing our creativity to flourish! When I took a trip around the room to look at the glasses that others had painted, I loved seeing how everyone interpreted the task differently and used unique color patterns.

  1. I love the idea of painting wine glasses! So much more useful than a canvas.

    1. That's why I chose this Paint Nite. I figured that I would use the wine glasses often and that they would be a cute conversation piece.

  2. My dad and I just went to one here in Columbus - he is extremely artistic and had a blast painting. Now my boyfriend wants to go too (I never would have guessed that would happen!)
