Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

70 degree temperatures this weekend didn't dampen my holiday spirit. If anything, the warm weather offered an opportunity to spend time outdoors. I loved being able to walk in the neighborhood this weekend; it's such a treat this time of the year. On Saturday, I think that I was outside almost all day!

At home, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. I wanted to try to recreate a Williamsburg inspired look for the house. I picked up 75 feet of natural garland to hang from the porch and picket fence in front of the house.

A pineapple and apple-topped cone sign welcomes holiday visitors to the house! I picked this up on my last trip to Williamsburg. Soon, I plan to buy a cone mold to make a centerpiece.

Window swags hang over each window on the first level of the house.

I enjoyed the fabulous weekend weather sitting on the sofa on the front porch.

Later this month, we will visit Williamsburg to see all of the Christmas decorations and houses. I hope to get more ideas for future decorating projects.

  1. Love your decorating! Where did you find the wreath on the front door? How do you hand the garland on the fence?

    1. The wreath is from a local department store called Boscov's. For the garland, I simply wove it through the picket fence and attached at the ends with gardening wire. Hope that you're having a wonderful day!
