Jessica and I pondered the menu for about 10 minutes before ordering several appetizers to enjoy before our meal. I highly recommend the banana bread (served warm!) and the crab hush puppies. The crab hush puppies tasted so delicious that we ordered a second batch to share with the rest of the ladies.
Although most of my friends ordered eggs Benedict, I chose the pecan chicken chopped salad. With the apple cider Dijon vinaigrette dressing, crumbled bacon, and crispy pecan chicken, I made the right choice! The service and attention that we received was impeccable.
After our delicious meal, we exchanged ornaments and holiday gifts in a white elephant type exchange. Normally someone "steals" a few gifts, but this year, everyone loved their pick so much that no one stole others' gifts.
After lunch, several of us explored the grounds of the Comus Inn to admire the amazing view.
What traditions do you and your friends do for the holiday season?
Every year on the Friday before Xmas the gentlemen in our town share a festive holiday "Gentlemen's Lunch" so about eight years ago the wives organized our own "Gentleladies Luncheon." It will be on Friday this year. We'll have about 30 ladies and it's become an essential part of our holiday celebrations. We may see each other all the time but there's something about this festive occasion that's extra special.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so much fun! I agree with you that it is fun to celebrate during this time of year. My friends and I also get together often, but the spirit of the season makes this celebration a winner!
